PSIM/MATLAB co-simulation for AES electrical architectures global models

AES power plant transient simulation problem is known as a difficult case considering calculation time and numerical stability. This paper presents the co-simulation approach and method for AES application. This technique has been introduced in the CTSN modelling and simulation tool called MOSARE. It has been applied with success on
various AES electrical architectures simulation cases. Some comparisons between MATLAB, PSIM and co-simulation on AES well known cases are analysed regarding simulation time on standard PC, numerical stability, and global functionalities and advantages.
