A: Depending on the type of license you have, below is a description of how to update your license. Your license must be either be under software maintenance to be eligible to update the license to the latest version, or an upgrade purchase must be made if you are not under current software maintenance.
USB Sentinel (HASP) license – Stand-alone
Step 1. You must first update your key to the latest version. Click HERE for instructions on how update your key. The instructions are different depending on if you are still running v9.x and older or v10.x and newer. Please select the appropriate instruction that suits your license.
Step 2. Using the download links that you received from Powersim, download the new version of PSIM or SmartCtrl Pro. You may find the installation guide for Sentinel Stand-alone HERE.
USB Sentinel (HASP) license – Network
Follow Step 1 from above. Before you download the latest software, you must first update your License Manager. www.powersimtech.com/download/HASPUserSetup.zip

Powersim-Hosted Softkey license
Step 1. Using the download links that you received from Powersim, download the new version of PSIM or SmartCtrl Pro. You will need to go to Options menu in PSIM or SmartCtrl Pro and deactivate the license (choose Deactivate). Then when you open PSIM or SmartCtrl Pro again it will check the server for your new license configuration.
Alternatively, you may check for updates in PSIM or SmartCtrl using the menu option Options > Check for Updates, and the software will guide you to the update.

Customer-Hosted Softkey license
Step 1. Please uninstall your previous license manager and install one of the following setups. The new License Manager must be re-installed, as the files have been updated.
**If installing in Windows, in “Second License” page of setup, answer YES if you are installing both PSIM and SmartCtrl softwares. Select 4 different port numbers, as detailed in the installation guide. Perhaps 8087, 8088 for one license and 9097, 9098 for the second license.
Step 2. After installation, send Powersim the server ID as described in the installation instructions. Once you receive the server license file and software license files from us, you may proceed with the software installation using the download links provided by Powersim.
Step 3. After installation, run “License Manager Administration” and “Update license file” for both server licenses.
