STAND-ALONE – Sentinel/HASP USB
For a Sentinel USB Key stand-alone license, one needs to have the license key (USB key) plugged into the machine to run PSIM.  With a stand-alone license, one would need to move the USB key to each computer to run PSIM (one user at a time). You may install the software on as many computers as desired. Additionally, you cannot ‘remote desktop’ into a Sentinel/HASP USB key license.

STAND-ALONE – Softkey
A Stand-alone Softkey license is restricted to two computer registrations at a time (computers must be registered with PSIM). Once registered, an internet connection is no longer required. You will not be able to run the software on both registered computers concurrently, to switch computers you will need to manually release the license (Options>Deactivate) and then reactivate on the other computer with an internet connection.  You can ‘remote desktop’ into a Softkey license.

NETWORK – Sentinel/HASP USB
With the Sentinel/HASP USB Key license, the USB key is installed on any computer on the network, and then any computer with access to the network can access available licenses.  As many computers as desired can have the software installed. With the network license, you do not have to move the hasp key around to different computers to run the software.  The number of simultaneous users of PSIM is limited by the number of users purchased. With the USB key network license, if you try and use PSIM and the USB key is not present on the network, PSIM will not run.

NETWORK – Softkey (Powersim-Hosted)
With a Network Softkey license, the Powersim server hosts the license.   PSIM can be installed on as many computers as desired and the license will release when PSIM is closed. Computer registration is unlimited (no maximum). The number of simultaneous users is limited by the number of users purchased.  A user can choose to ‘hold’ a license which means that they will be able to use PSIM without an internet connection. This seat will not be accessible by the other network users while it is ‘held’.

NETWORK – Softkey (Powersim-Hosted Group)
As with the regular NETWORK – Softkey (Powersim-Hosted) license, the Powersim server hosts the license, and with the Group Account your system administrator is able to monitor license usage.  Setting up the PSIM accounts should be performed by the IT Administrator only.

Please contact us for more details or if you have any questions about this type of license.

NETWORK – Softkey (Customer-Hosted)
The NETWORK Customer-hosted Softkey functions such that the license manager files are installed on the customer’s internal network. The customer maintains and controls the licenses internally.

Please contact us for more details or if you have any questions about this type of license.

SmartCtrl Pro
SmartCtrl software is a separate software independent from PSIM, and can be purchased on its own or in conjunction with PSIM.

SmartCtrl Pro With this package, one can design a controller in the analog s-domain, define digital delay, and check the control loop stability, all with the digital delay being taken into account. Once the controller is designed, digital controller coefficients for z-domain implementation can then be generated. SmartCtrl Pro allows for calculating the z-domain coefficients of digital compensators so that they can be implemented by digital devices, e.g., FPGAs or DSPs. Digital regulators are obtained following the discretization of their corresponding analog compensators, which are calculated using the analog approach of SmartCtrl.

PsimBook Exercise
PsimBook merges textbook exercises with hands-on circuit simulations. It’s easy to use and the ideal way to study power electronics and motor drives.  It’s an electronic book with user interactive functions to run PSIM circuit simulations. It is the first such product that combines textbook content and exercises seamlessly with circuit simulation.  A key feature is that each exercise is accompanied with an industrial context section, illustrating how a particular theory is applied to actual industrial applications.
