Powersim Releases DSIM 2021a With New Functionalities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Rockville, Maryland – July 1, 2021

Powersim, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of DSIM version 2021a. This is a significant software update with the addition of numerous new features:

Key features & updates of DSIM 2021a include:

A new BDSED solver is added for simulating stiff circuits

  • BDSED is a general solver that can solve both stiff and non-stiff circuits, including parasitic elements.
  • The BDSED solver enables the simulation of stiff circuits, which will help support the analysis of high-frequency oscillations and EMI.

Power loss calculation

  • DSIM supports detailed physical models for IGBT and SiC MOSFET. These physical models can be used to not only simulate switching transient, but also calculate device losses.
  • DSIM provides the functionality to simulate the switching transient of a physical device model.

Support for Single Switches & New Library Elements

  • New elements include: Coupled inductors and transformers, Synchronous machine and external load, Digital control blocks, and Power sources
