In this recorded webinar, we demonstrate the design and simulation of a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive with PSIM. We cover PMSMs with Interior magnets (IPM) as well as surface magnets (SPM/BLDC).

PSIM features a generous machine model library for PMSMs including:

• Linear magnetics
• Non-linear magnetics
• Spatial harmonics
• HF frequency input impedance
• FEA link with JMAG models

The main control technique we use in the webinar is Field Oriented Control (FOC) and our new and improved Motor Control Design Suite enables us to quickly generate stable digital PI controllers for Id & Iq. But not only that, speed and torque controllers are also part of the presentation.
