The modulation waveform is the output from the control circuit that when compared with the carrier waveform dictates the duty cycle to be applied to the switching circuit.
We look to see what happens if the amplitude of this signal is outside the range of the carrier and what happens if the control signal is “too fast” for the carrier waveform.
